Slowpoke - Pokemon

Year made: 2017
Cons worn to: Fanime 2017

Comments:
I bought the Simplicity 8276 Kigurumi pattern a while ago from Jo-ann Fabrics when they were having a pattern sale, and now I finally got to use it! I wanted to make a quick and simple costume to relax in. Something that was easy to construct, and easy to wear.

Since I didn't follow the pattern 100% (I drafted my own pattern for the slowpoke face and tail) I ended up going with 4 yards of pink fleece -- which is more than what the pattern says because Slowpoke's belly is solid pink and I wouldn't be using a contrast color on the main body like the pattern indicates. The ears are filled with batting and the swirly detail was topstitched on. The cotton I used for the lining of the hood I had in my fabric stash for over 3 years! I'm glad I finally found a perfect use for it!

This costume was so fun to run around in at the convention. Not only was it super comfortable, but everyone recognized who I was supposed to be! I loved the pattern I used for this costume and I hope to use it again for future projects!

Materials Used:
Pink Fleece - Main body, tail
White Fleece - Arm cuffs, ankle cuffs, tip of tail
Peach Fleece - Mouth
Pink Polka Dot Cotton - Hood lining
White Felt - Eyes, teeth
Black Felt - Nose detail
Plastic Safety Eyes - Pupils of eyes

**Wig styled by me**
